Laura Moyer conducted her Masters thesis research with Drs. Steffanie Strathdee and Kimberly Brouwer. As part of Project El Cuete, she explored factors associated with failure to get tested for HIV. Her work has resulted in a manuscript recently submitted for publication (entitled "Barriers to HIV Testing among Injection Drug Users in Two Mexico Ð U.S. Border Cities.") Since graduating with an MPH in Epidemiology in May of 2006, Laura has begun work as an epidemiologist at FoodNet, a project of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
